Waxing Awake Time
I was up fretting over Jenny's health until 3, and then woke over and over. When I managed to sleep, I had nightmare after nightmare. My last dream involved giving Willow away to Pat Morita and his adorable little grand daughter. This isn't turning into a dream journal, but I can say I was incredibly relieved when I woke up that I didn't have to tell Jenny I gave the dog away.
Entry 2. 10:27 p.m.
A long day. We left Florence, drove up the 101, a two lane road for the most part, stopping only once before we went into Salem. "Salem?" you ask. In-and-Out burger is in Salem. So, 4 hours plus, and Jenny drove it all. A good chunk of it was along the water.
The Oregon coast is full of spectacular views, and dozens of parks. The road, the 101, is also largely 2 lanes much of the way. Jenny looks at her phone when driving
quite a bit. She also was looking at the scenery an inordinate amount of time, checking her necklace out, all while driving. She drifted into the yellow line a lot, but always course corrected. I will drive tomorrow.I drove the last leg of today's journey, to Portland through Friday night rush hour traffic. Compared to Seattle, it was a breeze. We got to our hotel, Jenny in a bad mood, feeling poorly. I took the kids to Powells, while Jenny rested. We walked through the downtown, which, at 5 o'clock was empty of workers, but full of homeless people and many sketchy people.

Thank you for driving tomorrow.
