Moving Day Part Deux

Off to Ravenna to meet the movers.

Entry 2      6:09 p.m.

We, my friend Eachean (Ä“-kin) and I, met the movers at the Ravenna House. We got them to move the entire backyard, and various and sundry things like the 9 foot picture of the Flatiron Building Patrick gifted us 20 years ago, and which used to hang in our home in Renton, and graced Leiney's wall in Ravenna.  I learned from Jenny, later, that each additional item was a 15 dollar charge. Glad we loved the bulk of it.

We stopped at the dump in Southpark and got rid of a bunch of stuff, as well.  Nevertheless, despite relinquishing the home officially today, we have cleanup to do tomorrow, so will be going back then one last time.

Jenny texted an apology today for her insanely angry outburst last night. She hasn't mentioned it since I got home this afternoon, but it will likely come up at some point.  I am less than concerned about it, to be clear.  She is dying, I think, actively dying.  Her weight loss is shocking and sudden. The nurses noticed it today when she went to have her chemo pump removed and set up an appointment with the nutritionist.  Moreover, she was so weak today that she was crawling on her hands and knees to go from room to room at times. This is frightening. If this isn't the turn.  .  .  She mentioned to me she thinks that we may have turned the corner as well. Referring to a friend of ours who died just about a year and a few months ago from this, she said, "This is exactly how and when Michael died, when they switched to the FolFox."  I also feel her ambivalence about fighting this has increased, and her desire for the suffering to cease has surged.  So, a crazy angry outburst in the midst of this crisis isn't exactly a shocking turn.  Watching her suffering is a lot.  It is hard.  When she rallied for a bit about an hour ago, I convinced her to go onto the deck, where there is a lovely cool breeze.  She felt so cold, however, laying in the hammock, that I had to fetch a blanket to cover her.  I got her lukewarm lemon water and oxy, and there she has remained.

My sister is coming over tonight and ordering pizza.  That should be good for Jenny's caloric intake.
